Personal summary
Background in quantitative health related science,
chartered statistician (1993),
and substantial recent experience in health research, epidemiology
and more generally as a
medical statistician.
Successful publication record (over 150 articles in refereed journals)
and awarded substantial research funds. A full list

At April 2009 my h-number was 40:
40 of my publications had been cited
40 times or more.
History of successful collaboration with colleagues
in NHS trusts, academic medical departments, primary care, other departments
in the university, and internationally.
Skills
Software experience includes
- general statistics packages:
R
(the open source version of S)
which I use for most analytical work
including mixed effects (multi-level)
modelling and compute intensive methods
(bootstrapping).
I use SPSS and Stata when working with colleagues whose
preferred package they are.
- usual range of office IT
and Internet software
on Wintel platforms and under Unix.
I also write in LaTeX and HTML.
- Programming in Pascal.
